Just in time for the party season, we've added new luxurious satins and florals to our gorgeous Grace dress. Look out for Claret & Blueberry Duchess Satins, English Blossom and Royal Rose - all due next week. The new Duchess Satin colourways are ideal for elegant events while the new florals are a perfect way of brightening up the moody weather.


Fancy more of a swing in your step? We've restocked our 1940's Swing Trousers, introducing brand new Mocha, Camel, Ruby and Charcoal. Keep an eye out for finishing touches like new hand-selected buttons.

Show a bit of leg this summer!

So many of you have asked, and finally we can unveil our very latest design. It's one that's set to become a smash hit... just as long as this super weather holds on for longer! Without further ado, here they are... shorts!


These shorts are absolutely guaranteed to bring out the pin-up girl in you! We've created them with all sizes and shapes in mind. The wide, high waistband will make your legs look a mile long, and they are cut to hit at the slimmest point of the upper thigh, for a look that's as flattering as it is authentic. The patch pockets are slightly V-shaped and winged at the sides... thanks to a bit of nifty design, they work equally well to create curves as they do to disguise problem areas.

Our smashing new shorts are available in black and red cotton sateen, and pale blue and black lightweight denim. Pair them with one of our peasant blouses or a halterneck top, add a pair of cute wedges and a parasol to protect that porcelain complexion, and watch the world fall at your feet!

But hurry, they're proving so popular that we can't promise they'll wait around. Or the sun either, sadly!

Everything stops for Tea (Dresses)

Well, even though it's only been a few short weeks since we announced our latest delivery of Tea Dresses, it's time to do so again! Our last batch sold out so quickly that we've been working night and day to restock our rails... and we've managed to source some amazing new floral fabrics that will be just the ticket now summer's decided to return.


Our Tes Dresses have all the look and of original 1940s frocks, and are made using vintage-style prints and patterns. They feature a loose-fitting bodice that flatters all bust sizes, a nipped-in waist, gored a-line skirt and cute buttons up the front. Choose from our stunning new floral fabrics like Country Garden and plain colours like Utility Purple, all as eye-catching as they are authentic.



The latest additions to the line also sport a vintage-look trim, adorning the shoulder gathers and short sleeves.



Thanks to their quality construction and easy-care cotton, these dresses work as hard as their 1940s counterparts, whether you wear them to work, for a day out, or to swing dance the night away. ...For an appointment with one of our fabulous Halterneck Pencil Dresses? It's even more exciting than Christmas Day here at Vivien of Holloway, because we have just received a shipment of these gorgeous frocks, which have been made up in beautiful cotton sateen. This lovely fabric has a slight sheen to it, making it equally perfect for a party dress as for a day dress, and best of all, it's super easy-care. Don't say we never spoil you!



These pencil dresses feature the same, cleverly boned and very supportive bodice as our incredibly popular circle dress. It gently lifts and shapes busts of all sizes into that perfect 1950s bullet shape... and will also slightly cinch your waist, while the curvy cut of the pencil skirt works wonders on hips both ample and slim to create a beautiful retro hourglass silhouette. There's a pencil dress for every occasion, be it a wedding, fancy soiree, trip to the seaside or day in the office - it all depends on how you dress it up... or down!


Make sure you add a little bolero and belt to complete your look. We love to match, but a contrasting colour can often create an entirely new look!

New 1950s Halterneck Dresses

Vivien of Holloway has just added some gorgeous brand new designs to our already fabulous collection of 1950s halterneck dresses.

The popular polka dot dresses now come in three new colours - white/navy, white/pink and white/turquoise. They still have the same top quality tailoring as all Vivien of Holloway dresses do, but this time they are in fun new colours for summer! You could wear them on their own, or with a colourful petticoat underneath.

Also, some new designs have joined the selection of satin dresses. We have some absolutely stunning star print dresses, the navy and black designs have a delicate layer of sheer organdy fabric over the satin. They look very elegant and can be worn to any ball or party.

1940s Floral Dresses

We shot some fantastic photos of our new 1940s dresses; the beautiful floral fabrics will be an excellent choice for the upcoming summer months. As you can see, the padded shoulders and sarong skirt give you an authentic 40s silhouette that any vintage starlet would be proud of.

Brand New Stock Added

We have just put some brand new 1940s Swing Trousers into the store. They have a high waist and are wide legged, and they are made from a wonderful heavyweight fabric, which allows them to hang beautifully. They also have pleats in the front, cuffed hem and a pocket in the side, so they are smart for the office or cool for a night out. There are some gorgeous fabrics to chose from: black and white dogtooth, navy, red, black, burgundy, dark green and grey.
As you can see from the photographs, they look simply darling with our sweet peasant tops, but they also look fantastic when they are teamed with our new 1940s Jezebel Satin Blouse.

Brand New Items

We have some fantastic new editions to our store; first is our brand new 1940s red satin Jezebel blouse.

The elegant fabric means that it can be worn in the daytime to spice up any outfit, or in the evening for some vintage hollywood glamour. They go perfectly with our sexy pencil skirts or for an authentic 1940s outfit, you can wear them with our chic 40s trousers.

It has slightly puffed sleeves which adds structure to the shoulders, a contrasting piping which runs across the yoke, pocket and cuffs. It also has 6 darts across the front to give a more tailored fit to your gorgeous body!

There are three beautiful colours to choose from: crimson red, burgundy and black.



Secondly, we have some wonderful new additions to our line of boleros. Each bolero has a matching dress so you can complete your look head-to-toe. They finish just above the waist to accentuate those bombshell curves! We have added some fun patterns and also more luxurious satin fabrics.

New 1940s Dresses

For all of you lovers of floral dresses we have finally listed all our fabulous 1940s floral dresses.
They are perfect to wear as a day dress and for more glamorous events as well. You could wear them to Goodwood or Ascot, and even to the fantastic Twinwood Festival that is coming up in August.

They have the right 40s vintage style with a sarong cut and a bit of a puffed shoulder to give more shape, and are made from a Crepe de Chine fabric that never creases.
The more exotic fabrics are ideal for a wedding on the beach; and are the favorite designs of our designer Vivien.

As you can see on our model, they give you a sexy feminine silhouette that suits any shape.
